Research Details:
Mitigation of increasing carbon footprint by the construction sector by sustainable alternatives of microbial usage in concrete. In depth study of MICP a biogeochemical process occurring in ureolytic bacteria mostly used for self- healing of concrete cracks. Using biopolymer produced from bacterial fermentation as a smart tool for encapsulating ureolytic bacterial cells to be used for concrete crack remediation. The study aims to bring an environment friendly and economically feasible approach for the construction industries to replace the conventional techniques which have been mostly contributing to the global CO2 emission.
